Sultry muso Geoffrey O’Connor has kindly made us a mixtape in advance of his appearance at our Mixtape Memoirs party during Emerging Writers’ Festival.
Geoffrey will be reading a mini memoir based on songs he put on mixtapes for teenage lovers and doing a hot DJ set – how’s that for versatility. Here’s what he has to say about the mix:
This collection is mostly comprised of upbeat songs about heartbreak, minor key ballads about undying love, and MOR adult contemporary rock songs about sexual intercourse. I guess Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s cover of ‘Ferry Cross The Mersey’ is quite a departure from this, but sometimes it’s nice to get a bit of rest and relaxation when it all gets a bit melodramatic.
