We’ve been so, so humbled by the phenomenal response to our The Lifted Brow & RMIT non/fictionLab Prize for Experimental Non-Fiction: 375 entries, which were whittled down to a longlist of fifteen exceptional entries, which were then whittled down further to a shortlist of eight even more exceptional entries, which we can now reveal to you:
As ever, the prize itself would not exist without the generous support of RMIT’s non/fictionLab and the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund. We are also equally indebted to the brilliant judges of this year’s prize, Helen Macdonald, Dodie Bellamy, Maria Tumarkin, and Astrid Lorange. Many thanks also to Ellena Savage and Rebecca Harkins-Cross for their help in running the workshops we held about experimental non-fiction in the leadup to the prize.
Our congratulations to the writers on the shortlist, and our thanks to everyone who entered the prize.
Reminder: the winning piece will be published in our next issue, TLB31, so if you want to be among the very first people to find out who won, and to read the piece, then subscribe now. Subscribers receive their copies before anybody else!
